How to Erase in Cricut

  How to Erase in Cricut

It’s a little frustrating that Cricut Design Space doesn’t simply have an eraser tool. Who has the time or wants to re-upload an entire image just because you missed one little spot? Or having to make an entirely separate image for one slight alteration; no thank you.

Good news! There is a way to erase a section of an uploaded image!! You just need to use another shape to cut away what you want to remove. Let me show you how!

For this example, I have laid out my flowers how I want but I don't want the pink flower showing inside the yellow flower. I need to erase a section of that pink flower so it stops underneath the yellow flower.

If I simply sliced the two shapes, it would only remove the area where they overlap.

X NO GOOD X

Instead, I make a new shape to cover what I want to be removed, then slice and remove that.

In this case, because of the rounded edge, I am using the Shapes > Oval tool, and unlocking it to have free control over the shape's dimensions.

Once I have it covering the part I want to erase, I unsee the yellow flower and select only the oval and the pink flower. Then hit slice

Now I just delete the circle, and flower piece that it cut. Once those are gone the pink section that was inside has now been removed.

All Done! It’s a lot of steps but it’s simple once you know what to do! If you would like to see the video version of this tutorial. Click here
